A Wild Parakeet!
In the last three weeks of lock-down I have been making the most of my one daily exercise a day by going for a walk in my local parks. I live next to both Princes Park ad Sefton Park and they have been a godsend during the lock-down as we have no garden to spend any time in. I have loved taking my camera round with me taking pictures of the ducks and swans that live in both parks and I've even managed to capture the odd squirrel as I did today!
But today I made a discovery which I had not expected to and I would never have known about if it wasn't for a very kind lady who saw me photographing the swans and told me about it. So, I'm going to let you in on a little secret... there are Parakeets living wild in the majority of the parks in Liverpool. Apparently they are all escapees who have found a home in the trees of parks such as Princes Park and Sefton Park and I managed to find one!
I am so shocked that I actually managed to see one in the dense trees but here he is in all his green glory. Isn't it amazing?! I didn't know I had so much wildlife so close to where I live but now I am able to explore it everyday. Maybe some good will come out of this lock-down after all...
