So, I know it's been a while but as my Dissertation deadline came closer I got more and more invested in it, meaning that I didn't have a lot of time for anything else. However, that is all over now. Last week I handed in all 33,000 plus words of my final Dissertation. I can't believe that after all this research and hard work my project is actually over.
This project gave me so many great opportunities including interviewing some amazing Musical Directors and being able to sit in the pit band for some of them. These experiences have only showed me how much Musical Theatre means to me. I love the experience and the originality of the theatre and that will never go away.
I want to thank everyone who allowed me to interview them during this project. Getting real life industry insights from you all really helped to shape my research and brought things to my attention that otherwise I would have not realised or may even have ignored. I also want to thank my supervisor, who guided me through my project, helping me through things I struggled with and believed in me when I was feeling a bit disheartened.
I obviously have to thank my friends and family who have stuck with me. This year has been hard, not just in terms of my project but it has also shown me who my true friends and family are. I want to thank Grace for always being there to pick me up when I'm feeling down, being my craft partner and showing me the brilliance of 'Ru Paul's Drag Race' and 'Once Upon A Time'. Next is my boyfriend Jacob, who's got me through many a minor breakdown and always looks after me. Thanks for your support and showing me what I've got ahead of me. Finally my Mum, unfortunately for her she had the lovely task of reading through all 33,000 of my words to make sure I hadn't made a boo boo. While she was happy to do it I know reading isn't one of her most favourite tasks so thank you and thank you for dealing with my many neurosis's these last couple weeks.
It's been a long old road but I'm so proud of the project I created, I don't think I could have done any better. Time for me to say goodbye to my masterful year. Now all that's left to do is wait for the results and find me a job...
