Top 5 Things to do this Summer
So since I'm still going to be working on my dissertation over summer I does mean that there's no holiday on the horizon for me this year, I know, sad times, but I've decided that doesn't mean I can't have some fun. I decided to come up with a top 5 things I wanted to do this summer while everyone is off on holiday.
5. Ice-Cream

Who doesn't love an ice-cream? For me it's a summer staple and while I won't be sunning myself up on a picturesque beach with lovely blue seas, I will still have the pleasure of going to an ice-cream van and buying myself a cool treat. I do have to admit that as much as I love ice-cream I am not a lover of the ice-cream cone so it will probably be a classic Feast ice-cream for me unless I'm feeling a little more
adventurous. Usually my summer ice-cream fix would be found at a lovely little Ice-cream Parlor in Newport, Ireland called iCones. Their ice-cream is to die for ( as you can see as I stuff my face with it) and the little tubs are so cute but I'll have to make do with my Ice-cream van trip with year.
4. Reading
I know I've kind of already started this one with my Goodreads reading challenge but as I'm going to be reading an awful lot of sources for my dissertation project and reading my work over and over again to try and make it the best I can make it I think it's good to read books outside of all this. It gives me a break from thinking about my project and I'm also hoping it will aid my writing slightly as I will see more use of punctuation and sentence structure. I have already started taking a book out with me most times I leave the house, for those little pockets of time when you're having a break or waiting for someone/something. Instead of going on my phone and scrolling endlessly I reach for my book and have a little read. Usually my peak reading time of the year is my two-week holiday to Ireland. I believe that my record in that period was 6 books, but since I can't go this year I think of it as a challenge to read as many books as possible over summer.
3. Go to the Seaside

There are so many lovely Yorkshire beaches and seaside town that I loved as a child. Maybe I'll head back to one of those for a day or maybe I'll try somewhere new, who knows, what I do know is I will be enjoying the Fish and Chips and 2p machines! I just love a beach tbh!
2. Take lots of photos
I love taking photos, not so much of myself but of everything around me, but I don't think I take enough photos. I want this summer to be the summer of photos and new memories to look back on. I also love attempting to be creative with a photo but it is rare that it turns out so I guess we'll just have to keep a look out like this Meerkat at Twycross Zoo.

1. Make plans
So in first place is making plans. Since my Masters finishes in September I've been finding it hard lately to figure out what to do after I've finished. I do know that I'm sort of finished with education now. As rewarding it's been and as much as I have got out of it I think it's time to move on and head off into working life. I have been applying for jobs recently but to no avail. I know something will come my way eventually but at the moment I just have to keep on going. I have so much that I want to do in life that I know I'm not going to give up. Alongside this though is making plans to see friends that I haven't seen for a while. Everyone is so busy nowadays that it's nice to catch up with people and keep up those relationships.
