London: It's all in the Planning
Over the past couple of weeks me and the significant other have been planning for a trip to London. Why London do you ask? Well, my ever so thoughtful boyfriend bought me tickets to see a musical which I've been listening to over, and over, and over for months but it is only showing in London at the minute so off to London we go.
I haven't planned a trip like this in AGES. I've been home to sunny Doncaster on the train a couple of times to see my family but other than getting the train tickets there's nothing else to worry about. I have somewhere to stay. I almost always have some plans of what I'm going to be doing, maybe a birthday gathering or meeting up with old school friends. Food is always provided thanks mostly to mum and grandma but this is going to be a trip to remember for a very long time.
Although, both me and the bf have been to London before we haven't really seen much of our amazing capital city. We have lots of places we want to visit already and as soon as I found out we were going to London I immediately piped up with 'We HAVE to go to the Theatre Cafe!'
After initially being as excited as little girl in a sweet shop I soon realised that there was going to be a lot of planning involved. Now, I would say that I am quite good at planning but this felt like a BIG responsibility. I know that some of you, well most of you, will probably think that that's a bit of an overreaction but those of you who know me will know that I worry about absolutely EVERYTHING. I just want everything to always go smoothly and have a stress free time.
So, after about 4 hours of stressful trawling the interweb for cheap hotels and train tickets we finally found a lovely Travelodge on the outskirts of London, pretty close to a tube station with a 24 hour service (boom) and train tickets that were a decent price (double boom). Not only that but we managed to get a discount on the hotel thanks to voucher code we found online! Not going to lie that last point was a last fluke and if it were down to the bf, who was so fed up of trawling through hotels he just wanted to book it, we probably wouldn't have got the discount.
So now we have a hotel and trains I'm feeling a lot less stressed and daunted by the trip and a lot more excited. I've heard great things about the show I'm going to see so it should be an amazing trip with just as amazing company.
So what do you think I should try and cram into my short weekend trip away? Any and all suggestions are welcome (obviously the cheaper the better because student lol) any musical theatre related are especially welcome!
Hope you all had a fabby week and are ready to have a relaxing weekend!
